Japanese Elevators Don’t Have The 4th Floor Button. Here’s Why.

Tetraphobia in East-Asian Countries — The number “4” in Japanese pronounced shi – 四 sounds similar to the Kanji 死 (also shi) whose meaning is death. The Japanese thus believe the number 4 to be associated with death. While studying Japanese, I stumbled across this and realized they take this superstition seriously. Wikipedia terms this as Tetraphobia. Henceforth you’ll find apartment and hospital elevators skipping floor numbers 4, 14, and 24.

The Most Expensive Coffee is made from a Cat’s Dung

You’ve heard it before. Here’s the story — In Indonesian, Kopi Luwak means civet coffee and the Asian Palm Civet plays a key role in this process. Wildlife Camouflaged in a Squint’s Reach

Why Mandai Zoo will always be worth it — The Singapore Zoo, also called the Mandai Zoo, is by far one of the highest-rated places to visit in Singapore. Walls that Suffered the Dark Days of Saigon

Stories of the Independence Palace, Vietnam — Never paid much attention to museums before, me. Temples are a far thought. The Independence Palace in Ho Chi Minh City shouldn’t have been very different. Though reluctant, we couldn’t miss one of the “must-visits” in Saigon, and so we went. But right from the start – from the life-size…
