Great read! I’m from India and I myself take the damn air-conditioned taxi everywhere because I can’t handle the public transport chaos over the even-more-chaotic traffic.
I feel that annoyance beneath the post. But hey, I’ll point out that you did have a shitty itinerary. You missed on the good parts of India - Southern states like Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and northern mountain regions like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
I grew up outside India and returned to the country late into high school. I didn’t like a bit of the place. But I finished college in Bangalore and I realised there’s something truly magnificent about the place.
Most of the best people I know are from India and the best part is though they stay close to one another, EVERYONE comes from a different place, have different cultural practices, beliefs, and backgrounds. THAT is what makes up for that ‘chaos’. It’s bound to be chaotic. Yet they’re all neighbours and have been for centuries.
That’s the beauty of India - the one thing you forgot to add :)
